This is the view of my front yard as I saw it just moments ago, walking to the mailbox.
Overhead, a Blue Bird is studying me. I'm thinking, maybe I'll get lucky today and catch Mr. or Mrs. Blue Bird perched on the roof of the new Blue Bird house. I see them flying into and out of the neighboring woods, in and out of the house, feeding their fledges no doubt. So, I get the camera and I wait . . .
And, then he does it, perches proudly on the rooftop of his home!
Just a few feet from where I am standing to get the shot, a Cardinal arrives for his breakfast, seemingly unconcerned about my presence.
It rained on and off all day yesterday, and we needed it. It doesn't take long in all that lovely sunshine to work up a thirst. And, a couple of weeks ago I just happened past the window as a pair of Red Shoulder Hawks dropped by my backyard bird bath for a drink. They arrived together, but the smaller one, presumably the female, brushed him off and took the first turn as he watched from a branch above. She's about about a foot tall, and he was at least twice her height. It was quite a site, but I had to shoot quickly, into the sun, and without my telephoto lens.
I've got lots of news to share, but that will have to wait until later. I'm off to the studio for now.
Enjoy your day!
