First stop The American Visionary Art Museum, a treasure trove of self-taught artistry. The building itself is spectacular inside as well as out. The exhibit begins long before you reach the front door, a giant nest perched on the side of the building, an enormous egg lay below, glistening in the sun, behold the mirrored mosaic encrusted structure, and let me not forget to mention the "tree of shiney happy things" curbside.
If you are fortunate enough to find yourself in the magical realm of The American Visionary Art Museum on The Baltimore Inner Harbor, plan a visit to neighboring harborside restaurant, Rusty Scupper, for some of their famous Maryland crab soup. I have never had anything so delicious, ever!
After a relaxed lunch, I found myself at another magical kingdom, The Queen's Ink in historic Savage Mill (www.savagemill.com), for a Mad Tea Party of sorts. We began our weekend with a paperdoll making social. The rest is history and here are some pictures to commemorate my weekend with friends. ~ Catherine
